Our client, based in Northern Ireland, provides full garage services and fleet maintenance to customers across the region. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a qualified and experienced Diagnostic Technician to join their professional team.
Role Overview
As a Diagnostic Technician, you’ll use advanced diagnostic tools and the latest vehicle technology to identify, repair, and maintain commercial vehicles to manufacturer standards. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic technology
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults with advanced tools and software
* Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
* Perform routine inspections, mechanical servicing, repairs, and preventative maintenance on light commercial vehicles (LCVs)
* Maintain vehicles to manufacturer specifications
* Carry out additional authorised repairs as required
* Complete warranty repairs following manufacturer guidelines and prepare relevant documentation
* Complete all job cards, reports, and paperwork accurately and to a high standard
* Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe workspace
What We’re Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV Repair & Maintenance
* Strong experience reading wiring diagrams and performing complex wiring repairs
* At least 5 years’ workshop experience in similar diagnostic or repair roles
* Additional qualifications in specialist diagnostics, electrical repair, mechanical repair, or welding are an advantage
* Ability to complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
* Professional approach, strong teamwork, and excellent communication skills
* Confident using digital job card systems and maintaining accurate records
* HGV Class 1 licence preferred but not essential
* Must have or be willing to take the UKVI IELTS (required for visa and licensing compliance)
