The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing contracts associated with the Infected Blood Campaign, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met while optimising value and performance. This role is an enhanced contract management role supporting business units driving efficiency and enabling IBCA to deliver its objectives.
This role will suit candidates who are curious, supportive and delivery focused, being prepared to engage at all levels of activity. The role is based around the principles of contract management but includes additional support services to business units to ensure that they are able to continue to deliver at pace.
Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, this position is pivotal to IBCAs successful delivery. The role is an enabling role and is part of the overarching commercial service offer provided to IBCA directorates. The successful applicant will work closely with stakeholders to provide an enhanced and embedded service. Standard contract management processes and methodology will underpin, support and bolster an enhanced, hands on approach with delivery managers to ensure that ICBA commercial agreements are delivered and all parties held to account.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define contracting and delivery needs. Support in the development of specifications, and assess supplier proposals, ensuring alignment with campaign goals;
* Work closely with operational and delivery management teams to ensure that commercial gaps are identified and solutions provided, enabling delivery at pace;
* Monitor and manage contract performance, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, and take proactive measures to address any issues or risks;
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to achieve campaign objectives;
* Prepare and present comprehensive reports on contract performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of key developments;
* Provide expert advice and support on contractual matters to internal stakeholders, facilitating training and guidance on contract management best practices;
* Stay informed of relevant legislation, procurement policies, and best practices in contract management to ensure the campaign operates within the appropriate legal frameworks;
* Lead negotiation processes for contract renewals and amendments, ensuring that the interests of the campaign are represented and protected.

* Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively with a range of stakeholders;
* Self starting with desire to succeed through direct engagement and activity with strong resiliency;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong can do attitude capable of operating in a dynamic and fluid environment;
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes within challenging timescales, demonstrating strong prioritisation, proactive risk mitigation, and effective decision-making to maintain the critical momentum of complex campaigns;
* Demonstrable commercial acumen with experience in applying financial and market understanding to contract management, ensuring Value for Money (VFM) is secured and contractual strategies are aligned with broader organisational financial objectives;
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
* Professional qualifications in contract management or procurement (e.g., MCIPS).
Additional information
A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
