Job Description

Position Title: Neurodiversity Lead - Mental Health Advocate Location: Primarily based at centres in Hammersmith and across London, with regular work at HMP BronzefieldSalary Range: £26,000 - £32,000Contract Type: Permanent / Fixed-term until March 2027Working Hours: 35 hours per week (including 2 days working remotely)Overview:Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Neurodiversity Lead to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support women within the criminal justice system, particularly those based at HMP Bronzefield, as they prepare for reintegration into the community. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying and supporting women with neurodivergent profiles or related traits, working closely with health care and education teams.Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to women with neurodivergent needs, with a focus on smooth transitions from prison into the community.
* Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement holistic support plans.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings such as the weekly complex case reviews and Safety Intervention Meetings (SIM), serving as the neurodiversity specialist within the wider London Criminal Justice Service.
* Accept and manage referrals from both prison and community criminal justice teams, acting as the key link between custody and community services.
* Guide women through the network of available services, helping them to re-establish themselves positively in the community after release.
* Work alongside service users to co-produce personalised support and action plans that take into account their unique needs and circumstances.
* Deliver a combination of casework and signposting support, empowering women to access appropriate services.
* Provide on-site support at HMP Bronzefield through a drop-in service 1-2 days per week.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Strong understanding of neurodiversity, mental health, and the impact of violence against women and girls, particularly within the context of the criminal justice system.
* Experience in developing and delivering trauma-informed support plans, enabling clients to address multiple complex needs and engage effectively with services.
* Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to remain composed and professional within a prison environment.
