Our client is a leading civil engineering contractor, delivering infrastructure - roads, substations, utilities, housing developments and renewable projects. Currently looking for a Planner/Senior Planner to join their well established team in Inverness.
Responsibilities
* As Civils Planning Manager, you will oversee the preparation, management, and reporting of project programmes across a diverse range of infrastructure and civil engineering works. Working closely with site teams, commercial teams, and senior management, you will ensure programmes are accurate, realistic, compliant with client requirements, and aligned with contractual obligations.
* Manage and maintain project planning schedules, ensuring all submission dates are met within contract requirements.
* Lead weekly programme updates with site teams to monitor progress against planned works.
* Prepare and submit formal monthly contract programme reports across 10–15 live projects.
* Produce detailed narrative documents to support programme submissions, tailored to client requirements.
* Develop and issue 4-week lookahead programmes in collaboration with site teams.
* Identify and communicate delays or risks to programme delivery, providing mitigation strategies.
* Review and critically analyse subcontractor programmes, advising on formal acceptance or rejection.
* Support the preparation of Compensation Event programmes or Extension of Time (EOT) claims in partnership with the commercial team.
* Contribute to tender programmes and planning support during the bidding stage with the estimating team.
* Mentor and support a trainee planner, encouraging development and growth within the role.
Requirements
* Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
* Strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure planning (advantageous).
* Ability to interpret complex project information and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to sites when required.
