Main duties of the job

What you'll be responsible for:

* Maintaining accurate clinical observations of patients; escalating concerns as appropriate
* To be aware of the safe policy and procedures for using subcutaneous and intravenous devices and usage of enteral feeding tubes
* To communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the healthcare team, while being mindful of possible barriers to understanding
* To have responsibility for the correct administration and custody of medicines according to the Trust Policy

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

What you'll need:

* A minimum of 6 months paid experience within an oncology ward environment within the last 3 years
* Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* All Registered Nurse roles will be required to provide evidence of
* Statement of NMC Registration
* Degree /Diploma in Nursing


Experience

* Minimum of 6-months experience working as a Oncology Nurse in an NHS hospital setting in the past 2-years Previous experience working within Oncology
* IV Therapy Trained Be a Qualified Nurse with NMC Pin and no restrictions
* SACT Trained
