A global alternative investment firm with approximately $25 billion in assets, focused on a range of lending strategies across different asset classes.
The role
As the senior member of the Legal team based in London, you will support investment, fundraising, and group activities across the European business. You will serve as a key partner to senior stakeholders, including investment professionals and capital formation teams.
Key responsibilities
* Work with the investment team throughout the lifecycle of investment transactions to identify and address material legal issues.
* Draft and review agreements such as loan or credit agreements, receivables purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, guarantees, indemnification agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.
* Support fundraising initiatives in Europe in collaboration with the US team.
* Coordinate with external counsel on fund formation phases, including review of private placement memoranda and limited partnership agreements, side letter negotiations, and fund closings.
* Develop expertise in fund structures.
* Oversee governance of management company entities.
* Manage a team member, including a lawyer.
Experience requirements
* Broad experience in credit or lending transactions, preferably involving multiple European jurisdictions.
* At least seven years of legal experience, with a background in private fund management.
* In-house industry experience is highly desirable.
