Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a confident and enthusiastic PE Cover Teacher to work in secondary schools in the Corby area. This role is ideal for qualified teachers, sports graduates, or experienced cover supervisors who are comfortable delivering Physical Education lessons and general cover when required.
We are working with a number of supportive schools who need reliable cover staff for day-to-day supply as well as longer-term placements.
The Role
As a PE Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set PE lessons, supervising practical activities, and occasionally covering other subjects where needed. You will be expected to maintain good behaviour, ensure student safety, and keep pupils engaged in learning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delivering PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
2. Supervising practical sports and fitness activities
3. Providing general classroom cover when required
4. Managing behaviour in line with school policies
5. Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed during PE lessons
6. Providing feedback to the school at the end of the day
The Ideal Candidate
7. Experience teaching or coaching sports / PE
8. QTS, degree, or relevant coaching qualification (desirable but not essential)
9. Confident managing groups of secondary-aged students
10. Flexible, reliable, and professional
11. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
