Quantity Surveyor Oxford | £50,000 - £70,000 + Package One Way are working in partnership with one of the South of Englands most respected family-owned construction businesses to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for their Oxford office.Established for over 100 years, our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment, restoration and design & build projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential, leisure and heritage sectors. Operating from five regional offices, the business continues to grow with a strong secured pipeline of work and record financial performance.This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor known for its people-first culture, long-term career development and collaborative approach to project delivery.The Role As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.Projects typically range from £1m to £30m and include a mixture of new build, refurbishment, restoration and design & build schemes across Oxfordshire and the wider South East.Key Responsibilities Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts and final accountsPreparing valuations, applications for payment and variationsCost reporting, forecasting and budget controlSupporting procurement and tender processesManaging project cash flow and financial performanceWorking closely with site and project management teamsAssisting with value engineering and risk managementMaintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractorsSupporting successful commercial delivery from inception through to completionRequirements Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractorStrong understanding of commercial management within constructionGood working knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC beneficial)Experience on new build and/or refurbishment projectsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsDegree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction ManagementAmbitious, organised and commercially awareWhy Join?
