Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our shop team as a BUTCHER. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items in a fast-paced environment, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and supporting the overall kitchen/shop operations. Duties
* Prepare a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards
* Assist in food assembly, plating, and presentation to ensure visual appeal
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations
* Support in butchery tasks, including cutting, portioning, and preparing meats
* Follow strict food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure quality control
* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
* Collaborate with team members to meet service deadlines and maintain high standards of customer satisfaction
* Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
Qualifications
* Previous experience in food production, butchery units/shops
* Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
* Experience in food preparation, butchery and kitchen operations is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen setting
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
