Are you a passionate, qualified teacher looking to make a real difference? We’re seeking a dedicated QTS Tutor to join our growing team in Peterborough, supporting pupils in need of tailored, one-to-one or small group tuition outside of mainstream education.
About the Role:
As a QTS Tutor, you’ll work with students across Key Stages 1-4, helping them to re-engage with their learning and achieve their full potential. This may include working with pupils with SEN, EHCPs, or those requiring catch-up support. Sessions typically take place in local centres, schools, or at students’ homes, with some remote options available.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality, personalised lessons in line with the National Curriculum
2. Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
3. Maintain clear and accurate records of tutoring sessions
4. Build strong, supportive relationships with students and their families
5. Liaise with schools and education professionals when needed

7. Position – One to one tutor

14. Minimum rate of pay – £25 per hour
15. Hours – Timetable can vary dependent on pupil availability
Experience, Training and Qualifications of the 1:1 Tutor:
16. QTS or equivalent
17. A minimum of 1 year UK classroom experience
18. Be confident teaching GCSE classes online
19. Provide a firm but fair approach
20. Have recent safeguarding training or willing to undergo Prospero’s course
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 Tutor must:
21. Hold the right to work in the UK
22. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
23. Provide two professional child-related references.
