Job Description
We are looking for an experienced FLT / Forklift Driver to join our busy team in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established operation where you will play a key role in keeping freight moving safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for loading, unloading and moving palletised goods while maintaining excellent safety and accuracy standards. If you are reliable, hard‑working and experienced on a counterbalance truck, we would love to hear from you.
This is a full‑time, permanent position with the below shift patterns available:
- Monday to Friday, 4:00am to 13:00pm
- Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 20:00pm
Optional Weekend overtime is available
Salary: £26,439 per annum
What You’ll Be Doing
- OperateLPG counterbalance forklift trucksto safely load and unload palletised freight in a high-volume, time‑sensitive environment.
- Useforklift-mounted scanning technologyto accurately record freight movements and ensure traceability across the network.
- Maintain precise handling and placement of goods, following scanning and labelling procedures to support efficient hub operations.
- Report directly to the Team Leader, working collaboratively with colleagues to meet nightly performance targets.
- Demonstrate astrong commitment to health and safety, adhering to all site protocols and proactively identifying and reporting risks or unsafe practices.
- Conductdaily pre‑use checkson equipment and promptly elevate any faults or maintenance needs.
- Contribute to apositive team culture, showing respect, reliability, and a proactive attitude in a fast‑paced environment.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with company standards to support operational efficiency and safety.
- Support cross‑functional tasks when required, such as assisting with freight checks, bay organisation, or liaising with admin teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- A valid FLT / Forklift licence (RTITB or equivalent).
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift truck within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced operation, with the ability to handle goods safely and accurately.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills to support scanning, paperwork and freight handling tasks.
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team to meet operational targets.
