ICT Support Technician

£30,559 - £34,314 per annum
South Worcestershire ICThas anexciting and rewarding opportunityto join the ICT Support Team, working on behalf of three South Worcestershire Councils.
The successful candidate will benefit from being part of an enthusiastic, customer focused team who are the first point of contact for the ICT service.
The ICT Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting and maintaining hardware, software and network systems within the organisation.This role ensures efficient and effective operation of all ICT systems and supports staff with technical issues to minimize disruptions. You will provide excellent customer service to over 800 users across various sites.
About the Role
A typical day may include:
* Providing first-line support for IT-related issues via phone, email or in person at various locations
* Documenting support issues and solutions using our ticketing system and creating Knowledge Base articles to share with the team
* Installing, configuring and maintaining hardware such as laptops and mobile devices
* Troubleshooting and resolving software problems including operating systems, applications and updates
* Managing user accounts and accessing permissions
* Maintaining inventory records for IT assets and equipment
* Monitoring and reporting on stock levels, re-ordering and disposing of equipment
* Providing basic training and guidance to users on ICT tools and systems including new starter inductions
* Assisting in documenting processes and changes
* Assisting in the design and updating of webpages
* Preparing accurate reports
About you
The successful candidate will have:
* Outstanding customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office and standard IT hardware.
* Great organisation skills and the ability to multi-task
* Strong communication skills and be able to work with people at all levels of an organisation
* Proven experience in a technical support or helpdesk role
