We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a market leading manufacturing business based in Preston.
This is a permanent role that has been created due to continued expansion and business growth. The Business have also recently invested in new systems and processes for the site to improve and develop the maintenance processes within the team.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background working within an FMCG / Industrial maintenance based role within a manufacturing environment. Experience within PLC Fault Finding is a must. Experience working with Hydraulics/ Pneumatics / Motors/ pumps/ Conveyors is also advantageous.
This is a shift based role working 4 on 4 off (2 Days 6AM - 6PM + 2 Nights 6PM - 6AM).
Candidates must be time served with a demonstrable background in Electrical Maintenance.
Role Description
* Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition to maintain and enhance performance of all machinery.
* Reduce engineering downtime, respond rapidly to machine failures and breakdowns.
* Undertake projects and assist with all on-site installations.
* Maintain open and clear lines of communication with management and fellow colleagues.
* Develop and improve planned maintenance schedules.
* Prioritise work within the engineering department and deploy resources accordingly.
* Identify training needs or 'weak spots' within the department.
* Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition to maintain and enhance performance of all machinery within the corrugating / conversion plant.
Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience working within a maintenance role within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
* Candidates must be time served with a demonstrable background in Electrical Maintenance.
* Familiar with Simens PLC fault finding.
* Knowledge of mechanical systems including Conveyors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Motors, Pumps.
* Strong communication skills.
