Senior Construction Planner
Our client is a leading Regional Contractor specialising in Commercial and Education projects. They are looking to recruit a Senior Construction Planner in Derby. The Senior Planner will play a crucial role in project planning and scheduling, ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. Your programming expertise and knowledge will be vital in advising the construction and tender management teams.
The Senior Construction Planner should have extensive experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project management, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Experience in Education and Commercial builds, as well as familiarity with Asta Power Projects, would be beneficial.
Senior Construction Planner Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
3. Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements, constraints, and risks to identify critical path activities and mitigate potential delays.
4. Monitor project progress and performance against established schedules, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
5. Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve scheduling conflicts, optimize resource allocation, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
6. Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including progress against milestones, upcoming tasks, and potential risks.
7. Lead planning meetings and reviews to communicate project schedules, objectives, and requirements to project teams and stakeholders.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to construction planning and scheduling, incorporating innovative approaches into project plans.
Requirements:
* Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project management, ideally in Education, residential, commercial, or industrial sectors.
* Proficiency in construction scheduling software such as ASTA, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret complex project requirements and develop detailed schedules.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving skills to anticipate and mitigate project risks and constraints.
