We are looking for talented and inspirational people who put the needs of the public at the heart of everything that they do and who want to make a difference. We welcome your interest in joining our Police Force and leading teams in Surrey Police and Sussex Police who work selflessly to keep people in our counties safe.
We are recruiting accredited Detectives to join Public Protection (PP) in Sussex. We are particularly keen to hear from officers with experience or an interest in Public Protection, including those who are not yet accredited but have investigative experience and would like to develop on the DC pathway.
The Role And Key Responsibilities
This is an exciting time to join Public Protection (PP) in Sussex as the service embeds transformational change in how investigations of rape and serious sexual offending are handled. The operating model is expected to change and you can be part of an investigation team or work elsewhere within Public Protection. We aim to recruit brilliant people with a passion for safeguarding to complement our teams and help take us to the next level.
Public Protection is a broad command with functions relating to complex investigations, offender management and intelligence sharing. Our Bluestone and Iris Teams are a core section within the department, responsible for investigations that pursue those who target and exploit the most vulnerable, bringing them to justice. They undertake specialist safeguarding work and collaborate with partners to protect those at greatest risk. These teams are based in Brighton, Crawley, Eastbourne, Hastings and Littlehampton.
Requirements include demonstrating the values of Sussex Police: problem solving, curiosity, tenacity, emotional resilience, compassion, and the ability to stay calm in adversity. You will critically analyse evidence to establish facts for court; and you will have opportunities for career progression through Future Focus processes.
Applications from underrepresented groups are especially welcome.
