Overview

This is a Modern Apprenticeship leading to a healthcare career as a Pharmacy Support Worker. You will study, train and work as a Pharmacy Support Worker as part of our Pharmacy team based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. You will join a team of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Support Workers in a busy automated Pharmacy Department, with responsibilities to support medicines stock management within wards and departments in Raigmore and provide a medicines supply service to other destinations across NHS Highland.

You will be required to work through a structured training programme towards achieving the SVQ Pharmacy Services qualification at SCQF Level 6 to meet the General Pharmaceutical Council’s minimum training requirements for the role. You will need to be enthusiastic with strong interpersonal and organisational abilities, good communication skills and a strong team work ethic. You must also demonstrate in your application good written communication skills, be hard working with good attention to detail, and be flexible in your approach and committed to completing the training programme.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must have achieved, or at the time of interview be working towards 3 National 4 qualifications (or SCQF equivalent) which must include English, Maths and a Science subject as a minimum. You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment. You will need to be flexible in your approach and committed to completing the training programme.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
