Overview
We are currently looking to hire an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator/Chief Engineer to join our Infrastructure team based in Sellafield on the LSS1 Project within the 15 year KDP8 framework.
Be involved early in the project development, and work through each stage of the life cycle of the project to completion. This role reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the coordination and management of multiple Temporary Works packages, both self-delivered and sub-contracted, including site setup, bulk earthworks, road pavement construction, storm & foul drainage, and both small- and large-scale reinforced concrete.

Responsibilities
* Provide coordination and management of Temporary Works design, coordination, submission, compliance, programming and management, and assurance; maintain and update the Temporary Works Register.
* Act as the first point of contact between Temporary Works designers and the site team/contractors; coordinate all Temporary Works activities.
* Ensure design briefs are prepared with appropriate consultation and are adequate for actual site requirements.
* Ensure Temporary Works designs are carried out, with appropriate design checks completed and approved.
* Control and supervise Temporary Works during erection and dismantling; issue permits to load where necessary.
* Confirm when permanent works attain adequate strength to allow dismantling and issue permits to dismantle where necessary.
* Maintain a Change Control process on site for agreed changes or remedial actions, following Temporary Works Procedures.
* Ensure maintenance and inspections of Temporary Works are carried out, or delegated to the construction team.
* Carry out regular audits or surveillance of contractor-installed temporary works.
* Review and approve Temporary Works designs from contractors or in-house designs; manage interfaces across production and subcontractor teams.
* Ensure all temporary structures comply with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to convey design intent, safety protocols, and project progress; keep meticulous records of Temporary Works designs, inspections, and alterations.
Qualifications
* Essential: You hold a current TWC CITB Certification or equivalent, and a valid CSCS card.
* Essential: You hold a degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering-related discipline, preferably Civil or Structural, or have relevant experience.
* Essential: Demonstrable experience at a similar level in temporary works design/delivery management, ideally on large infrastructure/construction projects.
* Essential: Strong organisational, influencing, and communication skills; strong collaboration and stakeholder management.
* Essential: Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS); full driving licence.
* Desirable: Nuclear & Sellafield major project experience; familiarity with T minus 12-week Work Package planning; familiarity with nuclear quality standards for tolerances and grading; familiarity with Sellafield site standards.
