The Logistics and Quality Assurance Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the seamless movement of materials, components, and finished products through the supply chain, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a critical position supporting both logistics operations and quality management processes, ensuring that our aerospace systems meet regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and company objectives. Tasks and Accountabilities
Logistics
* Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including international freight, customs clearance, and adherence to UK export control regulations.
* Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and transport providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of parts and systems.
* Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records for critical aerospace components.
* Implement robust logistics processes for packaging, handling, and storage to protect high-value, sensitive aerospace products.
* Develop and maintain documentation for shipping, tracking, and compliance.
* This role involves limited manual handling, with only occasional light lifting or carrying required.
Quality Assurance
* Support the development and implementation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and relevant aerospace standards.
* Conduct incoming goods inspections and ensure conformity to engineering specifications and certification requirements.
* Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, certificates of conformity, and compliance documentation.
* Participate in internal audits and supplier quality assessments.
* Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or quality role within aerospace, defence, or other high-tech manufacturing sectors.
* Strong understanding of export control regulations, customs compliance, and international shipping processes.
* Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with UAVs or aerospace industry.
* Experience of working with battery or dangerous goods transportation.
* Knowledge of ITAR/EAR compliance and UK Export Control regulations.
* Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Qualifications:
* HND in Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience) desirable but not essential.
