Who to contact if you have a query:

Care for the Carers seeks an experienced Counselling Coordinator to deliver and develop our counselling service for unpaid carers across East Sussex.

You will coordinate our Time to Talk service, assess carers' needs, match service users with counsellors, and provide clinical supervision to our volunteer counsellor team.

You will maintain British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy accreditation standards whilst ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all service users.

We particularly welcome applications from unpaid carers or those with lived experience of caring, although this is not a requirement.

This is a great opportunity to take on a rewarding role within a dynamic and passionate team making a real difference to carers' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assess carers' needs upon referral, including risk assessment and identifying appropriate talking therapy.
* Provide clinical supervision, support and management to volunteer counsellors.
* Recruit and induct new volunteer counsellors, working with partner colleges.
* Lead on service development and maintain BACP Accredited service status.
* Manage counselling venues ensuring they meet BACP requirements.
* Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed for young people and vulnerable adults in line with safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Maintain record keeping systems in line with data protection requirements.
* Monitor and evaluate service outcomes with input from stakeholders.


Essential Requirements:

* Recognised diploma or degree in counselling/psychotherapy and BACP accreditation.
* Qualified as a Clinical Supervisor.
* Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience and 300 hours post-qualification practice.
* Experience working with different modalities and delivering group supervision.
* Experience of service development with diverse stakeholders.
* Understanding of the impact of caring on mental health and wellbeing.
* Ability to assess carers' counselling needs and risk.
* Knowledge of child and vulnerable adult protection procedures.
* Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
* Good IT and case recording skills.
