Occupational Therapist - Rotational Specialist
Due to the development and investment in therapy services, we are excited to offer an opportunity to join our Occupational Therapy Team based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary as a rotational Specialist Occupational Therapist. The role includes managing a specialist caseload across various units including the Integrated Community Stroke team, Acute frailty & extended stay wards, medical, surgical, and orthopaedic services, as well as the Emergency Department. There are also opportunities to collaborate with our Discharge to Assess service.
Knowledge and experience at a specialist level within acute inpatient care are essential, particularly in facilitating safe and effective care and hospital discharge. Your caseload will involve ward-based work and some community visits. You should demonstrate a commitment to developing your knowledge and experience in assessment, treatment, and goal setting with patients presenting with varied physical conditions. Motivated individuals who aim to improve patient outcomes and experiences are encouraged to apply.
The role involves managing a specialist caseload on the rotational clinical areas, supporting other Occupational Therapists and the wider therapy team with caseload management. You will be responsible for clinical provision, supervising junior staff, and contributing to service development projects. Leadership skills are essential, and you will join a dynamic team of band 6 staff, supporting peer meetings and projects. Collaboration with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team and complex discharge team is vital. Support and supervision will be provided by Occupational Therapy Team Managers, and engagement in service development is encouraged.
