Salary: Grade 8, £ 36,363 - £ 40,777 per annum. (plus sleep in allowance and additional Sunday pay)

37 hours per week

Your role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our internal residential service. Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and mental health challenges? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Senior Residential Care Worker to join our dynamic team at our children's home.

You will support the leadership team to ensure the delivery of outstanding residential and outreach services to children and young people open to the service. Working within your team, you will work together to provide a range of creative support initiatives and interventions that improve the well-being of children, young people, and their families/carers. Our ambition is for all children and young people to be cared for within the Wigan community.

To contribute alongside the staff group and ensure the day to day running of the home is in line with the vision of the manager and statutory function. You will report to the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager and to lead and coach specific tasks as appropriate.

About you:

You will be passionate about caring for children, you will be resilient, enthusiastic and bring fun to the direct support to children. You will have a solution-focused, positive attitude and hold a level 3 qualification in children and young peoples residential. You will be committed to continuing professional development, learning, and working as a team.

You will be flexible in your approach and will be required to work evenings, weekends on a rota basis.

You must have experience working with children in a residential setting or supporting children with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and mental health challenges. You will have a compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children.
