The Bollington Youth Group (BYG) is seeking applications from qualified youth workers to develop a new Youth Service in Bollington. It is intended to run a programme of activities from the Spring to the Summer. Longer term, the Group plans to run a club for young people, with two weekly sessions for the 8 -12 and 12- 18 age groups respectively, from the autumn of next year, employing one or more part-time youth workers The aim of the initial period is to demonstrate to potential funders and to the local community that there is a need for a youth club in the town and the BYG is implementing its plans carefully and seeking to learn from its early experience. Role. The BYG is looking for someone to • help the Committee’s project team plan a programme of activities for the year • advise on creating a safe and welcoming environment where young people can engage in a range of activities • lead on messaging to the community of young people, particularly with social media • advise on the need for resources and equipment • advise on the layout and facilities at the venue • lead the programme of activities • lead the team of volunteers and support workers • contribute to service evaluation Qualifications and experience • Level 2 or above in youth work • Experience of working with a team of youth workers • Enthusiastic approach to working with young people • Familiarity with working within safeguarding frameworks Remuneration This will be at £18 per hour for 13 hours per week - for 21 weeks in the first instance. Pay may be negotiable for strong candidates. The person appointed will be self-employed.
