Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of innovative humanities curricula aligned with educational standards and institutional goals.
* Support and mentor teaching staff to enhance pedagogical practices and student engagement.
* Organise departmental meetings, workshops, and training sessions to promote professional development.
* Monitor student progress and implement strategies to improve learning outcomes across all humanities subjects.
* Foster an inclusive environment that encourages critical discussion, cultural appreciation, and intellectual curiosity.
* Collaborate with other departments to integrate interdisciplinary approaches within the curriculum.
* Oversee assessment procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency in grading and feedback.
* Manage departmental resources, including textbooks, digital tools, and other educational materials.
Requirements
* Proven experience in teaching within the humanities disciplines such as history, geography, philosophy or related fields.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with experience in managing teams or departments.
* Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to plan strategically and execute effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to inspire staff and students alike.
* A recognised teaching qualification or equivalent is desirable.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equal opportunities.
