What you will be doing
You will support the Directs Category Manager in a range of Direct spend categories totalling approximately £65 million, including, but not limited to, all contingent staffing, medical consumables, pharmacy, advocacy, pathology and any other clinical supplies.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will ensure that the companies cost, quality and performance goals are achieved. It is a busy and varied role and previous Buyer experience in a fast-paced environment is essential. You will be Microsoft proficient, have clear and excellent communication skills, be well organised with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a busy team.
As a Direct Buyer, you will be:
1. Supporting the Category Manager with all Direct spend.
2. Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and facilitate opportunities for innovation.
3. Assisting with supplier relationship management including tracking KPIs and holding quarterly review meetings.
4. Taking ownership of smaller spend categories within the Directs space with the support of the Category Manager.
5. Tracking contract end and renewal dates and working with the legal team to implement a contracts register.
6. Ongoing analysis of volume value reports to ensure the company is realising the benefits of the contracts in place.
7. Supporting in the writing of ITT and RFI documentation and assisting with running tenders through the company eProcurement platform.
8. Support the project management of complex procurement activities from initial specification stage to contract award.
9. Compiling and maintaining product catalogues in the ERP system.
10. Assisting the Category Manager in supplier and product rationalisation and standardisation activities to identify synergies and drive savings.
11. Tracking savings and quality benefits.
12. Use of internal reporting information management tools.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
13. Proven experience in a Buyer role within a fast-paced environment.
14. Experience managing multiple procurement projects simultaneously.
15. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
16. Experience in supplier relationship management and performance monitoring.
17. Exposure to tendering processes including ITT and RFI documentation.
18. Experience in healthcare or clinical procurement (D).
19. Flexibility in working hours and location, as per contract of employment.
20. The ability to travel to Borehamwood office and other locations as required.
21. Willingness to attend meetings and events outside of normal working hours.
