Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Hayes UK
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 Benefits
Are you a seasoned EHS professional ready to lead a site-wide safety and environmental strategy in a high-performance manufacturing environment? We’re seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join a growing team in Hayes. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive cultural and operational change, implement best-in-class systems, and ensure compliance across a dynamic engineering and production site.
Key Responsibilities for the Environment, Health and Safety Manager:
* Lead and develop the site’s EHS Management System in compliance with UK regulations, corporate policy, and industry best practices
* Ensure employee, contractor, and visitor compliance through effective training and communication strategies
* Work closely with site leadership to promote a strong, proactive EHS culture and continuous improvement
* Drive EHS performance through robust inspection, audit, and incident investigation programs
* Oversee emergency planning, site security processes, and regulatory compliance reporting
* Develop, implement, and track EHS-related KPIs, metrics, and corrective actions
* Lead behavioural-based safety initiatives and engage employees at all levels through coaching, recognition, and safety campaigns
* Maintain certifications (e.g., ISO14001, ISO45001), lead audits, and support renewals
* Manage the injury reduction program and lead effective return-to-work processes
* Evaluate and manage workplace hazards including PPE, ergonomics, confined space, fall protection, machine guarding, and chemical exposure
* Deliver and tailor training programs for supervisors and team members on EHS responsibilities and hazard mitigation
What We're Looking For:
* Ideally 10 years’ experience in an EHS management role, ideally in manufacturing or engineering environments
* Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance practices
* Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field ()
* Practical experience with safety programs
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
* Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS systems and managing audits
* Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
* Experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001 is highly desirable
