Are you a specialist in early childhood development who believes in the power of "learning through play"? We are looking for an enthusiastic EYFS Teacher to join a nurturing primary school in Accrington (BB5) starting after the 2026 Easter break.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a Reception class through their most formative months, bridging the gap between their first year of school and their transition into Key Stage 1. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply!
The Role & Environment
Our school in Accrington prides itself on a "child-centered" approach. You will be taking over a lively, curious Reception cohort from April 13th, 2026, through to December 2026. You'll have the support of experienced Teaching Assistants and a well-resourced indoor/outdoor EYFS provision.
Position: EYFS Class Teacher (Reception)
Location: Accrington, Lancashire (BB5)
Start Date: After Easter 2026
Contract: Fixed-term until the end of the Autumn Term (December 2026)
Key Responsibilities
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive EYFS environment that promotes independent exploration.
Plan and deliver a curriculum focused on the seven areas of learning and development.
Lead daily phonics sessions (experience with Little Wandle or RWI is a plus).
Use "In the Moment" planning and observations to track pupil progress effectively.
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers to support home learning.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Specialism or significant experience within EYFS/Early Years.
ECTs welcome: This is a brilliant setting to complete terms of your induction, with a dedicated mentor on-site.
A deep understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework and a passion for outdoor learning.
Excellent communication skills and a sense of humor (essential for the EYFS classroom!).
