Description
This role coordinates and manages assets across multiple UK Agri‑Tech Centre Capabilities, tracking inventory and ensuring compliance. It involves maintaining asset records, supporting procurement and disposal processes, and analysing asset data to inform financial planning and improve operational efficiency.
You will lead the introduction of a new technical asset management software system by developing processes and procedures, delivering rollout activities and training to UK Agri‑Tech Centre staff to ensure consistent usage and high data quality. The role begins with desk‑based setup and governance, followed by regular site visits to support implementation and ongoing asset assurance.
The role is offered on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis. The preferred working pattern is three days per week in the office. Travel is expected, typically involving two to three nights away per week (subject to agreement with the Line Manager).
Key Responsibilities
* Tracking and maintaining an up‑to‑date asset register, including details on physical location, condition and status.
* Recording maintenance activities and inspections for physical technical assets to ensure operational efficiency and longevity.
* Collecting, organising and analysing asset‑related data, ensuring all relevant information is accessible via reports and intranet pages.
* Continuously improving processes, ensuring that asset management practices comply with established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
* Assisting with the disposal of obsolete assets.
* Supporting internal projects related to asset purchasing and installation, ensuring readiness and safety for project work.
* Conducting in‑person asset audits at UK Agri‑Tech Centre sites nationwide, coordinating with site teams to manage schedules and document repeatable, future‑proof audit processes.
What We Are Looking For
* Degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field is preferable.
* Experience in asset management, inventory control or facilities coordination is an advantage.
* Familiarity with multi‑site operations (agricultural, laboratory, office environments, etc.).
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Familiarity with asset or facilities management software is desirable, but not essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
* Ability to manage numerous tasks, prioritise effectively and maintain focus amidst high volumes of data.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in data management, record‑keeping and compliance.
* Self‑motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
* Capable of prioritising responsibilities and adapting to changing demands.
Special Requirements
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
* A full and valid UK driving licence is required.
