This is a fixed term contract from 16 March to 23 May 2026. We are now preparing for our new Season of produced shows and seek an exceptional individual to join us as Wardrobe Assistant as we prepare for our new production, The Psychic by Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson, creators of Ghost Stories. Main Duties To construct costumes under the instruction of the Cutter, Deputy Wardrobe Supervisor, Head of Wardrobe or Designer To prepare fabrics for use in construction To prepare shoes, hats, and other costume items as instructed To dye and break down costumes To attend fittings and make notes as appropriate To clean and maintain costumes during the run of a production to ensure high standards of presentation at all times To maintain costumes during performance To be the Dresser for the show during tech and throughout the run of performances To set and strike costumes between the Theatre and other locations as required Person Specification Essential A minimum of 2 years' experience of costume making in a producing theatre or equivalent Good knowledge of garment construction both period and modern Good organisational skills The ability to use both industrial and domestic sewing machines Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the department The ability to work accurately under pressure The ability to meet deadlines The ability to work evenings and weekends as required A genuine interest in theatre and costume Dressing experience Desirable A full, clean driving licence Knowledge of dyeing and breaking down techniques Wig making or setting experience Terms and Conditions This is a fixed term contract from 16 March to 23 May 2026. Average working week: 40 hours a week The hourly rate of pay: £12.21 for hours worked Overtime: time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours a week Wages will be paid monthly Probationary period: 2 weeks Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per year pro rata'd for hours worked Notice Period Required: 2 weeks The Theatre has a work based pension scheme
