Overview
The Audit and Guidelines Midwife will be responsible for coordinating the clinical audit programme within Maternity Services. The post holder will provide expert advice and promote clinical audit and quality improvement and assurance projects relevant to Maternity Services. The post holder will coordinate evidence-based guidelines (including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and patient information).
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the clinical audit programme within Maternity Services, providing expert advice and promoting clinical audit and quality improvement and assurance projects relevant to the department.
* Coordinate evidence-based guidelines, including SOPs, policies and patient information leaflets, and work in close collaboration with the MDT and the wider Quality and Safety team to coproduce maternity documents within the Women\'s and Newborn Division.
* Provide support with aspects of the quality governance agenda under the guidance of the Quality and Safety Matron (Maternity and Neonates).
* Support and promote clinical audit and quality improvement activities relevant to the maternity department.
* Contribute to creating a learning environment in the department, acting as a role model and mentor to less experienced midwives, student midwives and other staff.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Standard/enhanced DBS required if appointed. DBS cost and renewal details include the Trust reimbursing DBS costs only in accordance with policy and updating service requirements. Applicants will be responsible for joining the DBS update service as applicable.
