Offer description

DescriptionEmployerLocation

Teaching Maths is like showing someone how to cook. Instead of simply handing them a recipe, it’s about helping students grasp why certain ingredients (concepts) fit together, encouraging them to experiment with different combinations (problem-solving strategies), and building their confidence so they can create their own “dishes” (solutions) independently.

At Oasis Academy Don Valley, we believe Maths is a key that can unlock opportunities for life. Our curriculum is rich, challenging, and full of potential. While it can sometimes feel daunting for both teachers and pupils, we know that the most effective maths teachers use creative, dynamic methods to make the subject engaging, accessible, and inspiring.

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Maths who can bring this vision to life; someone who can spark curiosity, nurture resilience, and help every student discover the beauty and real-world value of mathematics.

As a Teacher of Maths, you will:

1. Deliver creative, challenging, and inspiring maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
2. Use innovative approaches to break down complex concepts and boost understanding
3. Plan and assess in line with the Oasis Curriculum to ensure every student makes progress
4. Create a positive learning environment where all students feel confident to succeed
5. Set high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and personal growth
6. Support the wider life of the academy, including enrichment activities and community engagement

What We’re Looking For

7. A Qualified Teacher (QTS) with a passion for Mathematics and learning
8. Excellent subject knowledge and the creativity to make Maths engaging for all
9. High expectations for all students, regardless of background or ability
10. A reflective practitioner committed to professional growth
11. A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

Why Join Us?

Oasis Academy Don Valley is a co-educational all-through school for students aged 4 to 16, providing a seamless educational journey and a strong sense of belonging. We are proud to serve a vibrant, diverse community and to be part of Oasis Community Learning, one of the largest and most successful trusts in the UK. We offer:

12. Professional development through Oasis CPD, leadership programmes, and subject networks
13. Opportunities for career progression across a national trust
14. A supportive, values-driven culture where every staff member is valued
15. The chance to make a measurable difference in the lives of young people

If you are ready to bring creativity, clarity, and inspiration to the Maths classroom, we want to hear from you.

Safeguarding Statement

Oasis Academy Don Valley is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
