Job Description
Chalk Hill Group are supporting a well-established international organisation in the search for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join the team on a 6-month contract. This role will suit a technically strong qualified accountant who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, group reporting environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Take a lead on the financial reporting activities for UK entities, including group functions
* Ensuring accurate and timely monthly close processes
* Own the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process and quarterly review presentations
* Intercompany balance monitoring and resolution
* Preparation of journals including payroll, depreciation, leases, pensions, and general accounting adjustments
* Supporting tax accounting activities including VAT and statutory reporting
* Monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and P&L with investigation of key movements
* Preparation of group recharges and support with transfer pricing calculations
* Weekly cash flow forecasting
* Maintenance of the fixed asset register and lease accounting system
* Key point of contact for internal and external auditors
Key Skills/Experience include:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Experience in a group reporting or technical accounting role
* Strong knowledge of IFRS
* Good understanding of UK VAT and Tax processes would be advantageous
* Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
* Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Confident communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach
