B6 Specialist Occupational Therapist - Learning Disabilities & Autism

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an occupational therapist with experience in learning disabilities who is eager to work with individuals with complex health needs, challenging behaviour, or mental health needs. Join our county-wide Learning Disability Service to develop your skills in this area.
We offer regular supervision, professional development opportunities, and close support from the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist.
Some travel across the BSW area may be required; a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.
Recent experience working in a Learning Disabilities service within the last 5 years and confidence working with this population are essential.
Main duties of the job
* Be professionally accountable for a designated caseload of adults with learning disabilities, including those with profound and multiple disabilities and complex health needs, possibly including challenging behaviour.
* Work as a key member of an integrated county-wide multidisciplinary team.
* Support and contribute to the development of the learning disability service in line with Valuing People Now 2009 principles.
* Delegate and supervise junior staff within the service.
* Assist the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist with planning, prioritisation, development, and delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services. Deputise in their absence as needed.

* A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Current HCPC registration
* Training in Sensory Integration or willingness to undertake it
* BAOT/RCOT membership
* Membership of relevant Special Interest groups
* Postgraduate training evidence
* Leadership and management training
* Experience in clinical teaching and assessment
