Job Description:
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is central to Amazon's commitment to innovation. As Amazon evolves and adapts, this team ensures that the tools and technologies we use are up-to-date. As a Senior RME Technician, you'll help us stay ahead by adopting the latest technologies and finding new, efficient ways of working. You'll pay close attention to our processes to maintain high standards and implement upgrades to enhance those standards.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate best practices in equipment safety and monitor teams to ensure correct process adherence.
2. Track equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance, scheduling additional servicing as needed.
3. Supervise technicians on shift, support their development, and act as the first contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
4. Solve equipment issues to reduce downtime and support rapid package processing.
5. Support system improvements and standardize processes across the EU network.
A day in the life:
During each shift, you'll lead a team to ensure equipment availability and proper operation, monitor processes for compliance, and carry out preventative maintenance to maximize uptime. You'll observe and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity, implementing them across the EU. You'll also monitor system performance using tools like SCADA and assist with administrative tasks alongside your line manager.
This role is based at an operational site, with shift patterns that may include weekends and nights. As you gain experience, you'll have opportunities for advancement into more senior roles.
About the team:
Our RME team maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment across Amazon’s fulfillment centers, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency. The team includes leaders overseeing operations and technicians working on advanced technology, including automation and robotics. We focus on reducing downtime to ensure timely customer orders, often working during off-hours to minimize disruption. We encourage innovation and skill development, exploring new processes and cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and the Complex Item Sorter.
