Hays is working with a leading construction/engineering organisation to recruit a finance professional with experience as a Finance Analyst to join an established team.

Your new role
The purpose of the role will be to support senior members of the Finance team in managing central overhead and balance sheets. The job offers great exposure to various aspects of finance and a chance to further develop your existing experience.
Some of the key day to day duties will be:
1. Ensuring accurate accounting and collaborating with AP and Credit Control for timely ledger closure.
2. Preparing month‑end variance reports
3. Owning and reconciling key balance sheet accounts
4. Identifying and driving process improvements
5. Supporting quarterly and annual budgeting, plus monthly forecasting
6. Preparing VAT returns and assisting with corporation tax and other tax matters
What you'll need to succeed
7. Thinks analytically and can break down problems logically
8. Degree in Finance
9. AAT, CIMA or ACCA (Qualified or Part Qualified)
10. Previous experience in an accounts or finance team
11. Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills
12. Ability to analyse large data sets and produce clear information for management
13. Excellent Excel skills – Pivot Tables
14. High attention to detail
15. Positive, proactive attitude and strong teamwork skills
16. Experience of COINS would be highly beneficial but not essential.
