Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Deputy Team Leader – Practice Education, Theatres.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support the practice education team in theatres in the facilitation and provision of education and training of all groups of the multidisciplinary theatre team to provide high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
* Work collaboratively with the theatre manager and matron, as well as the practice education team leader, to help develop and deliver education strategies, encourage effective utilisation of resources and develop relations with the across‑site practice education team to maintain a standard training programme.
* Support theatre staff in building skills and confidence in scrubbing.
* Be an expert in theatres with high standards and excellent clinical skills, and teach these skills to other staff.
* Maintain high standards, recognise where intervention is required and promote the implementation of evidence‑based practice.
* Demonstrate good communication skills and excellent people skills for high‑stress situations.
* Provide deputisation for the team leader as required.
* Participate in clinical duties, working alongside learners to maintain own clinical skills and monitor/audit the competencies of other staff.
Qualifications
* Expert knowledge and skills in theatre practice.
* Passion for teaching and maintaining high standards.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to teach and mentor multidisciplinary staff.
* Experience in hospital teaching or training programmes (desired).
