Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day (full-time)
About the Role
Seek Staffing Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Autism Practitioner to join a dedicated service supporting young people aged 1825 with autism in Thurrock, Essex. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by empowering individuals to develop independence, confidence, and life skills as they transition into adulthood.
You will work both within a structured hub environment and out in the community, delivering tailored, person-centred support aligned with each individuals Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct, high-quality support to young people with autism in both community and hub settings
Support the development of daily living skills, including personal care, budgeting, cooking, and independent living
Promote emotional wellbeing through structured interventions, positive behaviour support, and consistent engagement
Facilitate social interaction and community participation, encouraging inclusion and independence
Support individuals in achieving their education, training, and employment goals
Deliver and review support in line with EHCP plans provided by the local authority
Act as a key worker for allocated individuals, maintaining accurate records and progress reports
Lead on complex cases, providing guidance and support to junior staff
Work collaboratively with families, external professionals, and multi-agency teams
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and outcome-based reviews
Promote safeguarding, equality, and best practice at all times
Essential (Mandatory) Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience working with young people or adults with autism or related needs
Proven track record of delivering positive outcomes and person-centred support
Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Psychology, Education, or a related field (Level 3 minimum)
Strong understanding of autism spectrum conditions, behaviours that challenge, and support strategies
Experience working with EHCPs and local authority frameworks
Ability to manage and lead complex cases
Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills
Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel across the community)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Degree (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related discipline
Training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Autism-specific interventions, or Mental Health
Experience supporting individuals into employment or further education pathways
Leadership or supervisory experience within a care or support setting
Knowledge of Ofsted/CQC frameworks and compliance standards
First Aid and Safeguarding certifications
