Where you'll work:
Depending on the needs of your business area, we expect hub based people to be in the office at least once a week, and to go to OVO Connection events in-person.
You'll be assigned to the closest one of our three hub offices, Bristol, Glasgow, or London, however it is strongly preferred that this role is based at our Bristol hub. Each hub has accessible spaces to park your laptop, is designed to inspire people, help them connect and bring big ideas to life.

This role in a nutshell:
Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager, you will play an integral part in providing an effective Risk and Controls function. As Risk Manager, you would be working to ensure risk management is in place and embedded across OVO - in particular, you will support colleagues in our Energy Management & Optimisation and Finance teams, as well as other OVO teams, as needed, to understand and help manage their operational risks.
Your key outcomes will be:
* partnering with operational leaders to deliver risk management services across OVO;
* working with team members across OVO to support and embed risk management;
* facilitating the identification, analysis and evaluation of risk;
* providing advice to Risk Owners on the suitability of controls, key risk indicators and key control indicators;
* being responsible for ongoing monitoring of risks against the Risk Appetite set by the OVO senior team;
* assisting the periodic review of the Principal Risks and Risk Appetite for OVO.
* producing value-adding reporting on risk to ensure stakeholders at all levels can make informed decisions;
* supporting the development of a culture within OVO that understands risk and enables risk-based decision making.
You'll be a successful Risk Manager at OVO if you...
* have a passion for risk management and a desire to ensure risk is understood and appropriately controlled;
* use your ability to work cooperatively within OVO to embed risk management into day-to-day decision making;
* have experience of delivering high value and quality outputs;
* are experienced leading risk management in a regulated sector - sound understanding of risk management principles and techniques;
* have a recognised professional qualification in risk management and/or be either degree level educated;
* have strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders;
* are resilient in character with strong ethical values and the determination to get it right.

We'll pay you between £49,000 and £65,000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us!

You'll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
