The Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Greater Essex is a partnership between Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea City Council, Thurrock Council, University of Essex, and Anglia Ruskin University. The HDRC focuses on the wider determinants of health and addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges affecting local communities.
As part of their research programme, HDRC is evaluating the Connect to Work Programme in Essex, Southend, and Thurrock. This voluntary employment support initiative aims to help vulnerable groups secure meaningful employment through a collaborative, locally led approach. It addresses barriers faced by specific groups, promotes long-term market participation, and develops an inclusive workforce, focusing on those who are economically inactive and have health conditions, disabilities, or are disadvantaged.
Join us as an Evaluation and Impact Analyst to play a key role in helping senior leaders assess the programme's effectiveness. Your work will provide immediate and long-term insights, guiding future delivery.
About you
You will support senior leaders in evaluating the Connect to Work Programme, helping managers improve services. Your findings will inform political and executive decisions by providing evidence and lessons learned. You will also collaborate with other HDRC researchers and academics.
We seek someone with a proven track record of delivering high-quality research and recommendations that influence strategic decisions. Experience in local government or the public sector is advantageous. You should be able to work with diverse stakeholders, influence thinking, and foster collaboration. A commitment to professional development and enthusiasm for contributing to a new, influential programme are essential.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Experience in conducting research and evaluation projects that lead to tangible improvements is required, along with the ability to identify opportunities to solve business problems and inform strategic planning. Intellectual curiosity is vital.
Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods is necessary.
In return, we offer an excellent rewards package, mentorship from research managers and academics, flexible working, and long-term career prospects.
Interviews are expected to be held during the week commencing 2nd June 2025.
