Financial Controller for a charity whilst they go through a period of change, initially 100% office-based.
Your new role
You will be an experienced and strategic finance professional to be part of the senior leadership team, overseeing Finance and IT. You will oversee a team of direct reports, and be responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax, and treasury, while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, Charity Commission requirements, and financial reporting standards. Key responsibilities include liaising with external financial service providers, leading financial planning and analysis to support long-term objectives, and developing systems for project profitability and job costing. The role also involves reviewing and approving monthly payments, managing online banking processes, and ensuring VAT compliance. You will support external audits, prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts, maintain rolling cash flow forecasts, and monitor key performance indicators. A commitment to driving efficiency through automation and process optimisation.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an ACA, CIMA, CIPFA or ACCA qualified Accountant with experience of leading a finance team within either a charity or a SME business. You will have knowledge of VAT regulations, including partial...
