Job Summary
As a Rigger you will be working predominantly on HPC projects supporting our internal and external customers with the lifting plans required for all lifting activities. Travel to other customer sites across the UK and Europe could be involved. This position requires a thorough knowledge and adherence to Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
Responsibilities
* Review Lifting Plans of work to be completed with the appointed person, supervisor or lifting lead.
* Understand Lifting Plans and RAMS, actively participate in pre‑job briefs taking place before each lift.
* Ensure all laydown areas are prepared and kept clean and restrictive.
* Ensure that the crane or lifting equipment, whether owned by the business, client or third party is regularly visually checked for good condition and operation and STOP work if any issues (i.e. before each lift, as in lifting plans).
* Communicate any issue to the supervisor and quarantine faulty equipment.
* Ensure that all lifting and rigging activities are conducted and performed in a manner that is Safe, adhering to the lifting plans, RAMS documentation and LOLER Regulations.
* Report completed rigging activities and issues including defective equipment.
* Be involved in a continual improvement programme.
* Actively perform Daily Safety Walk‑downs of the work area.
* Mentor and support members of the working party from 3rd Party supply, encouraging a squad‑centric attitude.
* Travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* CPCS A40 Blue Card qualification or NPORS N402 Blue Card
* NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Moving Loads
* Previous experience as a Level 3 Rigger or City & Guilds or above
* Experience in a heavy engineering, large construction projects or power generation environment.
* MS Office Literacy
* Full Driving Licence
Desired Experience and Skills
* High experienced level, possessing the knowledge and skill for all lifting operations.
* Demonstrates strong individual, interpersonal, and team attributes.
* Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment is an advantage.
* Flexibility to train and use a Fork Lift Truck when required.
* Flexibility to train for driving a Crane when required.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
