We are looking for a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Chemistry Department, supporting the delivery of accurate and reliable analytical results in line with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 standards. This is a professional and supportive laboratory environment where your attention to detail, teamwork and commitment to quality will be valued.

The Position

* Hours Per Week: 40
* Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (08:00 - 17:00)
* Contract: Full Time & Permanent
* Salary: £25,834 + £1000 GMP allowance per annum
* Hiring Manager: Aniko Molnar
* Closing Date: Friday 24th October 2025


The Day to Day

* Carry out allocated laboratory work strictly in line with documented methodologies and procedures.
* Perform daily quality control checks and instrument calibrations to ensure data integrity.
* Complete all analytical work within set timeframes, ensuring results are delivered in accordance with methods and customer expectations.
* Immediately report any issues or uncertainties affecting test performance to the shift supervisor.
* Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when items need replenishing.
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment, ensuring waste is correctly disposed of.
* Accurately complete all documentation with clear and concise handwriting.
* Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures, including COSHH and manual handling requirements.
* Wear and correctly use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
* Report all incidents or near misses to your line manager without delay.


The Essentials

* 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (including Science, Maths and English)
* A Level or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject (preferably Chemistry).
* Ability to follow instructions and established procedures with precision.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
* Basic IT literacy and good written and verbal communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset – able to work effectively within a team.
* Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workspace.
* A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
* A customer-focused approach and dedication to maintaining high standards.
