JOB DESCRIPTION
Objective
The Site Manager is expected to set a very high standard for the general good order of the premises and will work in a proactive way, applying initiative and a common sense approach at all times.
In fulfilment of all responsibilities and duties, the Site Manager should show commitment to the aims, policies, ethos and high standards of the school and strive to maintain these through professional personal conduct and effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and clients of the school.
Monday Friday 07.00-16:00
Role overview
To provide a high quality caretaking service for the school, ensuring the safety, security, organisation, cleanliness and day-to-day maintenance of the school site.
To provide a security and key-holding service for the school, ensuring the premises are opened each morning and in good working order, and to work alongside the cleaning team to ensure the secure building lock up in the evenings.
To provide a proficient trade skill set, some at an advanced level, to facilitate the smooth operation and development of the school.
To monitor and oversee the operation of the schools cleaning contractors (in conjunction with the Operations Manager).
To liaise with and manage, on a day-to-day basis, specialist contractors, including holiday building contractors (at the direction of the Operations Manager).
To ensure that all duties are carried out with due regard to health and safety procedures.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, parents, staff and visitors to the school.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will to be able to give evidence in support of all or most of the following:
Professional Skills and Experience
A minimum of two years experience in a similar role.
A range of craftsmanship skills, some at a high level, involving the ability to make, maintain and mend aspects of the interior and exterior of the Norland Place environment.
A clear working knowledge of Health and Safety at Work & Environmental legislation and the importance of maintaining high standards of health and safety on the premises.
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
ICT skills commensurate with the position. (Office 365 applications)
The ability to maintain logs related to the school buildings. (Legionella, Emergency light tests)
An ability to work independently and reliably carry out the functions described on the job description with minimal supervision.
An interest in undertaking further professional training related to this position.
An understanding of the importance of keeping the Norland environment looking as attractive and as well-maintained as it can possibly be at all times and a willingness to assist all other people who spend time on the premises to do likewise.
