ROLE: Interim Financial Accounts Manager (13 Months FTC)
LOCATION: Gloucester

We're looking for a Financial Accounts Manager who will play a key role in delivering financial stability, compliance, and process excellence across the Marlowe Environmental Services Group.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Lead month-end financial activities including reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll postings and expense processes.
2. Ensure statutory compliance with VAT, CIS, and other financial reporting requirements.
3. Oversee and improve financial controls, reconciliation quality, and month-end efficiency.
4. Supervise and support three direct reports, providing leadership, coaching, and workload oversight.
5. Review payroll postings, expense transactions, credit card processing, and reimbursement accruals, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
6. Oversee bonus and commission calculations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
7. Lead intercompany reporting processes across the group.
8. Review quarterly VAT returns across 14 entities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
9. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational finance performance.
10. Build strong collaboration with Finance Shared Services and wider business teams.
11. Develop performance KPIs and monitor output quality across the finance team.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
12. ACA or CIMA qualified (or newly qualified).
13. Strong foundation in financial reporting, compliance, and accounting controls.
14. Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, data analysis, and modelling.
15. Experience with Sage preferred; willingness to learn new systems essential.
16. Familiarity with CIS processes is advantageous.
