We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist who will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to Liaison Psychiatry for Working Age Adults based at Royal Surrey County Hospital, working alongside a multidisciplinary team in line with New Ways of Working. The Trust currently employs 10 Liaison Psychiatrists working across the Liaison Psychiatry services in the county. All teams are multidisciplinary, employing a dynamic and competent group of nursing and allied health professionals to support clinical work. The post holder will cover other consultant colleagues in the liaison directorate for annual and study leave.

Responsibilities
* Provide Liaison Psychiatry input to the Working Age Liaison Psychiatry Service in RSCH (8 PA direct clinical care & 2 PA supporting professional activities).
* Join a rapidly expanding Liaison Psychiatry service within Surrey & Borders NHS Foundation Trust and contribute to service development and delivery to meet local needs.

Qualifications
Essential
* Consultant with licence to practice in good standing with the GMC
* Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (or within 6 to 12 months of interview/assessment) or equivalent
* MB BS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months
Desirable
* Relevant higher degree (e.g., MD, PhD, MSc) or other clinical qualifications
* MRCPsych or equivalent
Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of legislation, Department of Health Guidance and implications for clinical practice
* Knowledge of NHS strategic vision and high-quality care frameworks
* Excellent clinical skills with a bio-psycho-social approach
* Ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
* Decision-making based on evidence and collaboration with others
* Ability to meet duties under MHA and MCA
* Experience working with diverse patient groups across community, inpatient, and specialty settings
* Knowledge of psychiatric provision
* Desirable – Published audit or research projects
Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning
* Participated in research or service evaluation
* Active participation in clinical audit and quality improvement programmes
