Job Title – Structural Engineer
Salary – £30,000 - £45,000 DOE

We have an exciting opportunity for a structural engineer with an enthusiastic self motivated disposition who is looking for a new challenge! Joining the existing team, you will be integral to the successful running of projects.
You will not only be able to put your existing experience to effective use but also be able to gain understanding and have full involvement in every aspect of a developing business! You will also benefit from the infrastructure and procedures already established.
Based in Truro the business operates throughout Devon and Cornwall. They currently work in the residential and commercial sectors on a wide spectrum of projects that range in size from small domestic alterations up to large multi-million-pound projects in interesting locations.

About the role:
Our client is looking for an engineer capable of creative thinking to resolve design challenges whilst undertaking the detailed structural design and analysis of elements and frames in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry, liaising directly with architects and other members of the design team to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities:
* Project review, fee proposal and tender document preparation for prospective clients at domestic and commercial level (Depending on level of experience this will be done alongside a senior engineer or independently).
* Undertake inspections of existing buildings and site visits before and during construction to confirm design compliance and suitability for conversion.
* Alongside the Business Development Director promote working relationships with new and existing design practices, contractors, and domestic enquiries to secure future projects when necessary.
What are we looking for?
* Must have an Engineering degree Meng/BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* A minimum of 2 years structural engineering experience within a UK consultancy.
* Candidates must be a motivated and commercially aware individual.
* Ideally you are, or want to, become Chartered with IStructE or ICE.
* Experience in delivering Party Wall Surveys is desirable but not essential.
* Civil and structural design work experience including calculations and drawings.
* Analysis and technical design ability are essential.
* Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, procedures, and structural principles.
