About the Role As Senior Finance Business Analyst, you will: Deputise for the Finance Manager, making decisions and taking appropriate action across a range of financial matters. Resolve complex financial issues independently within the Birmingham City Council framework. Lead and supervise a finance team, including work allocation, performance management, development, and recruitment. Oversee long-term project plans (3 months), ensuring successful delivery and alignment with strategic goals. Support strategic and business planning, ensuring service expectations are met within the Business Plan. Monitor and review service direction, ensuring compliance with business plans and council objectives. Drive performance, ensuring the team meets key performance indicators (KPIs). Essential Requirements Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent). Experience working within a local authority, ideally in Safety or Highways services. Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven ability to manage complex financial projects and lead teams effectively.
