Virtualisation Engineer
Salary up to £60,000 + £15,000 in additional bonus
Cheltenham (flexible working available while clearance is processed)
Must be eligible for high-level UK Government Clearance
Sanderson Government and Defence are working with a major global technology provider supporting secure UK Government programmes.
We're looking for a Virtualisation Engineer with strong Wintel and virtualisation experience, who either holds or is eligible for high-level UK Government Clearance. This is a great opportunity to join a team delivering mission-critical services in secure environments, with a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1st to 3rd line technical support across virtualised environments
* Monitor system performance and ensure smooth functionality
* Create and maintain technical documentation
* Support compliance with internal processes and policies
What We're Looking For:
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Experience working to ITIL best practices
* A proactive mindset with a focus on root cause analysis
* A collaborative approach to knowledge sharing and learning
* A keen eye for identifying risks and improvement opportunities
Relevant Technologies and Skills:
Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:
* Virtualisation: VSAN, SCVMM, Hyper-V
* Windows Server (2016/2019), Active Directory, DFS
* Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure
* Red Hat technologies: Satellite 6, OpenShift 3/4, RHEL/CentOS
* Networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN
* Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Git
* Security tools: McAfee EPO/ENS
