Job Summary
ABL Health and Sunderland Council are partnered to deliver the Stop Smoking Service across Sunderland. The service will provide integrated behaviour support for smoking cessation embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive wellbeing. We offer up to 12 weeks support through an individual quit programme with weekly tailored advice and support from a Specialist Practitioner.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Work under the line management of the Service Manager to support development, delivery and promotion of the service across the borough.
* Collaborate with ABL’s communications team to raise the service profile and implement a Communications Plan.
* Engage with local partners, stakeholders, primary and secondary care colleagues, community organisations and other services to increase awareness and develop referral pathways.
* Organise and deliver training such as Very Brief Advice (VBA), MECC and Level 2/Universal Provider training for external organisations.
* Monitor referral data to support service targets and report on progress.
* Attend local meetings and events, represent ABL, promote the Stop Smoking Service and maintain partnerships.
* Support service monitoring and development, maintain partnership records, provide progress updates and support co‑production activities with residents and stakeholders.
* Participate in face‑to‑face and telephone stop smoking clinics as required.

* Experienced in community engagement and partnership working in a community health environment.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships from scratch.
* Positive, proactive and able to motivate, engage and support partnership delivery.
* Strong communication skills; confident and approachable communicator who adapts the message to fit audience needs.
* Proactive, innovative and open to new ideas and perspectives.
Experience
Essential
* Demonstrable experience of partnership working.
* Demonstrable experience of speaking to large groups.
Desirable
* Previous experience delivering training programmes.
* Experience delivering focus groups.
* Experience of public speaking.
* Experience of partnership working or collaborating with a variety of organisations.
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree and/or equivalent experience in community healthcare, community development or business development.
Person Specification
Motivated, passionate, organised and proactive communicator with experience of working in a training setting. ABL takes a strengths‑focused, asset‑based approach to training delivery.
Employment Details
Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 a year
