Overview
University Hospital Sussex NHS Foundation Trust prides itself on providing comprehensive linen cover for wards and departments. All items of linen are delivered at various times to ensure enough clean linen is available for patients' needs. We are seeking a Laundry Assistant for the morning shift; bank hours also will be available. To undertake the processes necessary to wash and finish linen to the specified standards and to dispatch to our customers.

Responsibilities
* Operation of laundry machines in accordance with the specified procedures, in conjunction with all Health & Safety requirements.
* Transporting clean/dirty linen between each laundry cycle.
* Folding and packing finished linen to meet the needs of the customer.
* Reporting all equipment/machine faults to a supervisor.
* Delivery of clean linen to all Wards/Departments when required.
* Recording all linen packed ready for distribution.
* Complying with all Health & Safety regulations at all times.
* Maintaining the cleanliness of the individual work area at all times.
Learning and Development
* Attend mandatory training updates as required.
* Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with the line manager as part of the personal development process.
* Achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.
* Identify own learning needs and jointly plan training requirements with your line manager.
* Participate in the Trust’s appraisal process to discuss how your role will help deliver the best possible care to our patients and help to deliver any changes in service.
