MITSUBISHI POWER EUROPE Engineering team supports the maintenance and operation of industry leading Steam and Gas Turbines, Generators as well as associated equipment. In order to support the operation, maintenance, performance requirement definition and evaluation of these equipment and associated design solution upgrades, we are looking for a Graduate Application Engineer. The role involves identifying cost effective reliability enhancements, upgrades and performance evaluations of proposed design/upgrade solutions and supporting cross functional teams.

Role responsibilities
* Work on design, modification and upgrade proposal packages for gas turbine and steam turbine systems/components.
* Collaborate with customer support and repair engineering to develop computational models/analysis for turbine component design, performance and reliability upgrade proposals.
* Support development and improvement of turbine performance assessment tools and processes to support cost-saving initiatives.
* Assess the overall performance of rotary and stationary systems by applying basic thermodynamics design principles of gas turbine/steam turbine systems.
* Work with customer support and project management teams to identify customer-specific requirements and develop enhancement proposals for the installed fleet.
* Evaluate the impact of product and performance upgrade solutions on existing performance and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape of available solutions.
* Provide technical support to commercial teams for sales and services proposal activities.
* Support configuration management by maintaining records of installed configurations, previous modifications and upgrades following company data practices.
* Support project management, customer support and commercial teams to maintain optimum inventory of usable parts.
* Provide and develop technical capability to support feasibility studies for performance enhancement solutions.
* Acquire working knowledge in design and simulation activities of design/upgrade solutions.
* Write and/or revise Quality Management procedures as required.
* Understand the voice of the customer (VOC) and articulate VOC into executable tasks.
* Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
* Maintain a customer-focused mindset with ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
Qualifications / who can apply
* You must have a Full Right to Work in the UK.
* You must have a Full UK Driving License and access to a car as travel between sites may be required.
* An Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree (MEng, MSc or equivalent) in Thermal Power and Fluids or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
* A strong background in the simulation and design of gas turbines for aerospace, marine or industrial applications.
* Knowledge of thermodynamics and performance calculation; knowledge of GT, GTCC and Steam turbine power plants is advantageous.
* Past industrial experience with the simulation of gas/steam turbine systems is an added advantage.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with good communication skills.
* Proficient technical report writing and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with diverse cultures and nationalities.
* Good knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and simulation software.
